Bird Net vs Invisible Grill: Which One Do You Need?
These aren't two versions of the same product — they solve two completely different problems, and a lot of people searching for this comparison actually just need to figure out which problem they have. Here's the plain difference, what each costs, and how to tell which one applies to you.
Start here: what's actually bothering you?
You need bird net
Pigeons or other birds are nesting, roosting, or leaving droppings on a balcony, terrace, window ledge, or building facade. A mesh barrier closes the opening completely and keeps them out for good — it doesn't address fall safety, only birds.
You need invisible grill
A balcony railing or window has a gap wide enough to worry about — a young child, an elderly family member, a pet, or just the height itself. A near-invisible stainless steel wire barrier closes that gap without boxing in the view. It has nothing to do with birds.

One honest difference worth knowing
Bird net only makes sense if you actually have a bird problem — if nothing's nesting on your balcony, there's nothing for it to solve. Invisible grill is relevant more broadly: any home with an open balcony railing or window gap can consider it for safety, whether or not birds are involved at all. That's why a lot of our invisible grill customers never had a pigeon problem in the first place — the reason they called was a child, a pet, or just an open edge that felt too risky.
Can I get both?
Yes — plenty of homes do, and for two entirely separate reasons: bird net to keep pigeons off a terrace or balcony, invisible grill on a different railing or window where the concern is someone falling through, not birds getting in. They're quoted and installed independently, so there's no bundling requirement either way.

Bird netting is a mesh barrier that keeps pigeons and other birds out of a balcony, terrace, or window, priced per sq.ft. Invisible grill is a stainless steel wire safety barrier that stops a person, child, or object from falling through an open railing or window gap and has nothing to do with birds — also priced per sq.ft. Some homes install both, for two separate reasons.
No — the wire spacing on invisible grill is set for fall-prevention, not to block something as small as a bird, so pigeons can still get through the gaps. If you have an active bird problem, that needs bird net; invisible grill is a separate, safety-focused product.
Both are priced per sq.ft of the area covered, so there's no fixed answer — the exact price for either depends on the space, height, and access involved, confirmed on a free site visit rather than quoted blind. Bird net has a 100 sq.ft minimum order; invisible grill doesn't.
If there are no birds nesting or roosting on your balcony or terrace, you likely don't need bird net. Invisible grill is a different question: it's relevant to any balcony or window with an open railing gap, regardless of whether birds are involved — mainly considered by households with young children, elderly family members, or pets, or on higher floors where an open edge feels risky.
